Extend Mobility and Secure Access - Simply

Simplify and Secure Access for Remote Workers with F5 Firepass

Providing application access to mobile workers can be challenging. Remote workers want to connect from everywhere: homes, airports, hotel rooms, coffee shops. They don't want to go through a difficult process to connect -- but their IT departments don't want infected laptops logged directly into the corporate network.

The FirePass SSL VPN provides both security and ease of use. It grants access to corporate applications using a technology that everyone understands: a Web browser. Users can have secure access from anywhere they have an Internet connection, while FirePass ensures that connected computers are fully patched and protected.

Secure Mobile Access Using Mainstream Technology

SSL VPN is overtaking IPSec as the standard for secure remote access to corporate applications. This shift in standards combined with the increasing use of mobile devices to access corporate application resources is putting more emphasis on the need for secure remote access control policies. SSL VPN can help ensure that client user logon and access privileges are defined and controlled by corporate access policies.

Secure Remote Access Across a Wide Variety of Applications and Devices

FirePass provides robust, secure SSL VPN remote access to business applications from a wide range of client devices, including Windows Mobile devices and the Apple iPhone. Using full-tunnel SSL technology and client access policies defined by system administrators, remote clients can log on to corporate business applications under pre-defined access permissions and client directory control.

Simple, Secure, and Cost-effective Access -- from Any Location for Any User to Any Application

FirePass offloads server-based security processes and access controls to free up valuable server cycles, while clustered scalability and availability features support thousands of concurrent users and failover services. FirePass can also run virus checks prior to user logon and set defined access controls to the client device during logon, to ensure secure access compliance. Non-compliant clients can be quarantined and passed to DMZ management processes for compliance updating. FirePass also supports Application Ready Access, providing full reverse-proxy services for market-leading application portals including SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, and others.

Aruba Remote Access - Extending Enterprise Mobility Across the LAN, WAN and Internet

Even while away from enterprise locations, mobile users still need access to enterprise voice and data networks. Using high-performance and secure remote access technology, Aruba integrates remote users into the same architecture as that powering enterprise wired and wireless networks. This integration provides a single point of management for all mobile users while maintaining a consistent network access experience for users.

For users at wireless hotspots, airports, or other Internet-connected locations, Aruba's VPN Server capability interoperates with industry-standard Virtual Private Network (VPN) clients from a variety of vendors including Microsoft, Cisco, Nortel, Apple, Avaya, and Juniper. L2TP/IPSEC, IPSEC/XAUTH, and PPTP are all supported using hardware-accelerated encryption for a high degree of scalability. Aruba's VPN Dialer provides a convenient downloadable front-end for the Microsoft Windows VPN client, permitting administrators to automatically configure client settings with an easy-to-use installer.

For small offices and telecommuters working from home, Aruba's Remote AP solution takes a standard enterprise-class wireless access point and converts it into a secure remote access device that can be deployed directly on the public Internet through any broadband connection. Using the Remote AP, the enterprise wireless LAN environment appears wherever the Remote AP is operating, with the same encryption, authentication, and access control policies as are available in an enterprise facility. When deploying access points with dual Ethernet ports, the second port can also be used to transport wired traffic securely across a VPN tunnel to an enterprise datacenter.

For larger branch offices, Aruba's Site-to-Site VPN solution eliminates the need for a standalone VPN appliance by extending secure connectivity between two Aruba mobility controllers, or between a mobility controller and a third-party VPN concentrator. Standard VPN features such as IKE pre-shared key support, X.509 digital certificate support, dead peer detection, high availability, and a configurable selection of encryption methods allow the solution to easily integrate with an existing site-to-site VPN deployment or enable a new rollout.
